Optometrist By Day, Hollywood's A-List DJ By Night

Unmatched on the Hollywood party scene, DJ COOLWHIP is both a veteran and journeyman when it comes to rocking a crowd.

Los Angeles, Ca.- December 2007- DJ COOLWHIP (www.djcoolwhip.com) is one of Hollywood's most sought after DJs. Known for his epic 4-hour "Hip-Hop / Mash up / Strip Rock/ Electro" sets and blending different genres of music, COOLWHIP's constant array of craftsmanship on the turntables is nothing short of genius.

Distinctive to the DJ scene, his regular fan base includes such superstar socialites as Paris Hilton, Wilmer Valederrama, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Justin Timberlake, Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue), Ron Jeremy, Jessica Biel, Kimberly Stewart, and Jaime Foxx to name a few.

As a teen, COOLWHIP would regularly patron all the local record stores to find rare grooves that were different but yet lively. A top honor student and a shop sponsored skateboarder riding with many famous pro skaters at Venice High School he has always felt that music was his calling. With influences ranging from Mixmaster Mike, Q-Bert, Xecutioners, his brother DJ Hysum and skateboarders like Christian Hosoi and Chris Miller, his record collection grew with his overwhelming desire to play them in front of crowds.

In 1991 - with a record collection the size of a two-car garage, COOLWHIP decided it was time to pursue music the way he had pursued education and skateboarding. While his brother DJed a Rave in Downtown Los Angeles, COOLWHIP memorialized the evening by grabbing a record and begun spinning, never looking back since! Ironically, since his introduction to professional DJing, he has gone on to graduate from the University of California - Irvine with a BS in the Biological Sciences, California State University - Dominguez Hills with a masters and Southern California College of Optometry with a doctorate degree in Optometry.

Referred to as a Hollywood legend by his peers and a favorite among many club goers, COOLWHIP has a reputation as a DJ's DJ. He has played alongside the world's finest DJ talents, sharing the stage with Mixmaster Mike, Q-Bert, Xecutioners (Roc Raida), Grandmaster Flash, the Beat Junkies, Z-Trip, Mark Ronson and DJ AM. A celebrity in his own right, Coolwhip has blessed the stage with artists like Incubus, No Doubt, Jay-Z, Gnarls Barkley, Common, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Stone Temple Pilots, Prince, GooGoo Dolls, DMX, Jurassic 5, Lil Jon, Xzibit, Mickey Avalon, and the Black Eyed Peas. Often quoted as an authority on the club scene and for his insight into the lifestyles of the rich and famous, COOLWHIP has received noteworthy mentions in US Weekly, In Touch, People, URB Magazine, Skinnie, 944 Magazine, Mixmag and the Los Angeles and Orange County Times.

COOLWHIP's past and present clients include US Weekly, MTV, VH1, BET, Sony, Interscope, Earthlink, Playboy, FOX, ESPN, Sega, ABC, NBC, HBO and many elite party coordinators who have all called upon his skills for special events. Respected for his ability to rock the masses alike, from nightclubs to private parties, DJ COOLWHIP has become a "Superstar" DJ. With rotating residencies at Hollywood hotspots such as Element, Vanguard, Ritual, Les Deux, Mood, Cabana Club, Facade, Day After, Sugar, Basque, Priviledge, Republic, and Highland's nightclub, COOLWHIP has solidified himself as a true Hollywood legend.
