When Kenyetta Smith first stood in her kitchen, contemplating her line of handmade beauty products, she knew then the main ingredient in all her recipes would be love. Today, almost four years later, now standing in her very own boutique, the main ingredient in the entire line of Butterfly Kisses Botanicals (BKB) is still LOVE !

Butterfly Kisses Botanicals (BKB) is a collection of Smith’s personal offerings for sumptuous bath, body and hair treatments. Available on-line at www.bkbstore.com and on-site at 4504 West Washington Blvd. in the heart of Los Angeles, BKB was first inspired by a recurring dream. Prompted by the vision in her dream, Smith felt compelled to take a local soap making class. The dream proved prophetic as she went on to develop her own line of bath salts, scrubs, candles, scented oils and body butters.

Dead Sea salts, essential oils, and soy-vegetable wax are just a sampling of the ingredients combined with love that support Smith’s motto “Caring for yourself is not a luxury, but a requirement!” Her lavish line of scented and unscented products range from the gender-neutral like the camphor/eucalyptus/lavender combo to the distinctly sweet and tantalizing vanilla/coconut/almond variety. Bergamot and ginger, coconut and gardenia, pear & vanilla and blackberry & sandalwood are just a flurry of the fragrances that warrant the line’s reputation for products butterfly kissed!

The BKB Bath and Body shop is a personal triumph for Smith who came to Hollywood to follow her dream to be a screenwriter. Centrally located in a revitalization zone within Los Angeles’ urban community, the boutique’s presence is symbolic, harkening the dawn of an new era in a community once populated with rough hewn industrial and manufacturing businesses.
