MIASHA, THE WRITING DIVA,
DROPS FOURTH NOVEL
"SISTAH FOR SALE"
A SIZZLING TALE OF SURVIVAL
Philadalphia, PA - When 26-year old "Writing Diva" Miasha puts pen to paper, the publishing world takes note. Just two years ago, at the age of 24, the literary phenomenon incited a heated bidding war between powerhouses Avon Books, St. Martin's and Touchstone/Simon & Schuster, Inc. Touchstone/Simon & Schuster, Inc. won and the alluring storyteller walked away with a six-figure, two book publishing. Shattering stereotypes about Black youth not reading, Miasha is three books deep in the game, with two new releases on the horizon for 2008 !
Sistah For Sale (March 2008, Touchstone/Simon & Schuster, Inc. )
is the latest explosive tome from the Essence bestselling author who rocked the literary world with Secret Society, Diary of a Mistress, and Mommy's Angel. Weaving storylines like hip hop beats, Miasha immerses you in her urban tales of love, intrigue, survival and yes, drama!
Sistah for Sale finds Sienna, a beautiful young orphan, born into Miami's sex-trade industry. Her father murdered before her very eyes, she is torn from her mother's arms while just five years old. Raised in a lavish mansion, under the auspices of Chatman, her father's business partner, young Sienna is exposed to a world that has all the trappings of wealth but is devoid of family love. Chatman is a multi-millionaire player in the sex-trade game, illegally importing young woman from around the world. It is all Sienna knows as she grows up to be one of his most coveted prizes. The jaw-dropping plot twist and sizzling scenarios as Sienna strives for independence and hustles to break free from the life make Sistah for Sale a non-stop read. It's also the kind of mind- bending stimulation that Miasha's reader love her for.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Miasha's vivid imagination was nurtured out of necessity. With both parents addicted to drugs, life was anything but a fairytale. Reading and writing became her escape. It takes a village to raise a child, and with the support of the community, Miasha went on to attend and graduate from Temple University. It was a keynote address from author, Karen Quinones-Miller that changed her life and inspired her to pursue writing as a career.
Armed with brains, youth and beauty, Miasha writes not only to entertain but to inspire. As the youngest author signed to Touchstone/Simon & Schuster, Inc., Miasha's passion is to eradicate the despondency evidenced among her peers in inner city communities. Her writing is authentic to the streets but polished with a fervor to incite and inspire change. A true success story, Miasha is living proof of the will to win. She has set up her own Ask Miasha Foundation, and mentors youth in her free time, often attaching charitable promotions to her book signing appearances.
"Young people more than ever need to realize that there are consequences to playing the game ruthlessly for money, fashion and fame. There are other ways to succeed in life. I grew up with little to nothing, but it was intellect and talent which paved the way for me today. My books are written to provide hope and to show my readers there is always another way out," offers Miasha.
Sistah for Sale joins the budding collection of Miasha's riveting fiction feats but will stand alone as the story of a woman who came out ahead with all the odds against her - just like the real-life Miasha herself. Visit with Miasha, the Writing Diva at www.Miasha.com .
