SEATTLE RAINS PRODUCE NOCTURNAL
RAGE THE HARVEST IS "MISS MARY JANE" ON NOC ON WOOD RECORDS It
is said that behind every dark cloud, there is a silver lining. Well, Seattle's
rainy climate has given birth to many a dark cloud. And it is often that dark
cloud that has inspired the creative tendencies of some of music's most successful
minds (think Nirvana and Sir Mix A Lot). Those
same notorious rain clouds now set the scorching backdrop for the thunderous reign
of Nocturnal Rage: three volatile emcees whose silver lining has ruptured into
a explosive sunburst amid a still dampened hip hop sky. With the release of "Miss
Mary Jane" the debut single from the self titled CD, Nocturnal Rage on Noc On
Wood Records, Nocturnal Rage is currently blazing the musical landscape with their
inciteful rhythms and burning lyrical accounts of a "chronic" love affair. A bonafide
hit "Miss Mary Jane" is as addictive as the sticky green substance being paid
tribute to. Backed
by a live funk band, Nocturnal Rage is not your average rap group. This crew lights
fire to the mic and sears the stage with their hot lyrical flames. Comprised of
Caligula, Pyromaniak and Fo'Feve, this three-man team embodies the scorching heat
of hip hop. The video, directed by Bernard Gourley, (Master P, Lil' Romeo and
Aaron Carter) has provoked a chain reaction on media outlets nationwide as each
MC is tirelessly courted by a crew of vibrant, Mary Janes vixens.
Their contagious hooks and animated performances have entranced audiences around
the country. Produced by none other than track master Philly Blunt, "Miss Mary
Jane" is the prelude to a CD of 20 songs potent enough to keep the funk whirling.
Featured artists include Suga-T, Cool Nutz, Arc, Gator, Saulty Pimpin' along with
veteran guitar man Spaceman Patterson from the P-Funk Allstars. Additional producers
bringing fervor to the inferno include Daddy-O of Stetsasonic fame, Bosko and
Mr. Roc'Phella. "Just
like SubPop Records put Seattle on the map with Nirvana, Noc On Wood Records is
turning up the heat with Nocturnal Rage," cites, J. Thomas Wood, Jr., CEO of Noc
on Wood. "Nocturnal Rage embodies the passion of the Pacific Northwest hip hop
scene. Their intensity is sparking the scene for a resurgence of rap in this region."
Like hydroponic chronic, "Miss Mary Jane" will hook you after one hit. No sticks,
no seeds, no stress, Nocturnal Rage is harvesting the funk. A stormy night never
rained so clear. Nocturnal Rage is igniting the horizons! Somebody better Noc
on Wood ! |
