KEVIN ROUSE BRINGS
HOLLYWOOD TO THE ANTELOPE VALLEY
WITH BLACKBURN'S SUPPER CLUB

The desert has often been mistaken for desolate and barren.  And in fact, for many years, Los Angelenos have often been puzzled by the fact that many Californians have made the high desert of Antelope Valley their community of choice!  What could the desert possibly have to offer, many have pondered?

But as with all things, time changes perspective, and the Antelope Valley has emerged as one of California's trendiest upcoming communities.  And within the Antelope Valley, in the community of Lancaster, resides what many might consider a mirage!

Blackburn's Supper Club, under the direction of hotel and entertainment industry veteran Kevin Rouse, has emerged like a true oasis, bringing Hollywood to this once barren land!  Blackburn's is located at 44245 Sierra Highway in Lancaster, CA in the midst of the Antelope Valley.

Rouse, along with his business partner, Gerald Blackburn, and executive chef Rodney Taylor have combined efforts to present live jazz, gospel, blues, R&B, Latin and comedy performances, coupled with gourmet Southern cuisine, and housed it all within a plush multl-level bar, dance and dining complex.  The imaginative combination, under the Blackburn banner, has not only eliminated for need for residents to travel "down below" for fine dining and entertainment, but is also motivating Los Angelenos to travel beyond their usual borders for an evening unmatched by others.

Rouse is no stranger to the game.  With 25 years of experience under his belt, he ran the Ten20 Night Scene at the Bel Age Hotel on the Sunset Strip for years, recently retiring from that enviable post to concentrate his efforts closer to his home in Palmdale, CA. With venues that also include the prestigious Biltmore Hotel, Rouse can name drop with the best of them.  In fact, he will be calling on favors from several of his close celebrity friends to bring top notch bookings to Blackburn's this summer.

"Hollywood is actually a state of mind," reveals Rouse. "The ambiance, attitude and environment we are creating here at Blackburn's is what the Antelope Valley has been waiting for.  We plan to give the people what they want, with live entertainment almost nightly, fine dining with a full bar daily, and service consistent in quality, care and respect."

April's itinerary will have the joint jumpin' as Thursday nights will bring Hollywood's own Clueless Band to the house, with Friday's devoted to Latin legend Tony Molina and his friends as they present sexy New York-styled Salsa for the evening.  Saturday, the club's biggest night, the tables will be set for the best in top live jazz entertainment to accompany your fine dining and Sundays will round out the week with jazz and gospel brunches! To appease your daily thirst for socializing with friends, there is Happy Hour from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday through Friday.

Rouse, also a musician, will make a special appearance playing the bass, with his cousin, one of the music industry's hottest lead guitarists,  Ricky Rouse.  Their band, Rouse House, will perform on Saturday, April 15.

The desert is no longer desolate and barren.  Blackburn's is creating a bit of Hollywood flavor and entertainment, that from a distance might seem to be a mirage, but is certainly a welcomed oasis!
