L. JOHNSON
MAKES “DOING HARD TIME”
LOOK EASY IN NEW DVD RELEASE
William
L. Johnson is the personification of heat on the Hollywood
horizon. With over twenty film projects under his belt,
including the box office sleeper, “Blue Hill Avenue”
where he co-starred with Allen Payne and Clarence Williams
III, “A Spider’s Web” with Steven Baldwin
and the upcoming “Tears of a Clown,” starring
Don “D.C." Curry, Johnson is a Hollywood heartthrob
waiting to happen. A dedicated actor, provocative musician
and endearing poet, Johnson embodies the heart of man on
a mission.
The
Sony distributed “Doing Hard Time” is the performer’s
latest vehicle. Like a strong cup of chocolate mocha, Johnson
serves it up hot and steamin’ in the new DVD release
where he co-stars with the equally sexy Boris Kodjoe and
suave ladies gent, Giancarlo Esposito. A conflicted drama
directed by Preston Whitmore (“Dead Presidents”),
and slated for release on November 23, the feature may prove
to be the spark that ignites a career that has been passionately
bubbling beneath the surface. “Doing Hard Time”
chronicles Michael, played by Boris Kodjoe, as he launches
a crusade of vengeance for the untimely murder of his young
son. Johnson plays Clever, a former choreographer serving
time for murder and also seeking his own revenge.
Claiming
Gary, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois as hometowns, Johnson
has nurtured a desire to entertain since his youth. Budding
successes with local acting and singing projects motivated
his move to Los Angeles in 1998. Since relocating, in the
past six years, he has shared the screen with veteran thespians
Shemar Moore, Vivica A. Fox, Gary Dourdan, Golden Brooks,
and Victoria Rowell. His independent film projects have
garnered accolades at the Acapulco and Black Hollywood film
festivals while steadily acquiring him a base of fans that
follow his work.
“I’m
a driven man,” espouses Johnson. “I came to
Hollywood on a mission, and I can’t rest until my
mission is fulfilled. My acting is a vehicle to draw attention
while my music is a means to convey a message.”
Equally
important to Johnson is his passion to deliver conscious
messages through his music via his stage persona "Brotha
Bill" and his band Enforcement. Brotha Bill's essence
is a lyrical flow that sets him apart from other neo-soul
artists. Fusing poetic verse with energetic R&B funk,
Brotha Bill is poised to unleash his musical merits with
a CD release early 2005.
William
L. Johnson is one to watch. Whether on screen or on stage,
