Debra Wilson
Debra
Wilson began her career studying drama at the prestigious
high school of Performing Arts in New York City before attending
Syracuse University, where she studied television / radio
broadcasting.
Wilson
began doing sketch & Improve comedy with troupes as a hobby
but her stand out talent led to a professional acting debut
on the television pilot "The Apollo Comedy Hour". Debra's
first series as a series regular was on "The Uptown Comedy
Club" and then National Spokesperson for Burger King. She
later served as Sidekick and warm-up for Joan Rivers on her
show "Can we Shop?".
For the
past six seasons Debra has been a cast member on Fox's "MADTV",
an edgy late night sketch comedy series also creating such
characters as Bunifah, Melina, and "Lowered Expectations"
Spokesperson.
Debra's
movie credits include "The Asylum", "Gidlock'd", "B.A.P.S.",
"Sleeping Together", "Cracking Up", "Blue In The Face", "Bloodhounds,
The Mystery Of The Invisible Knight", "Girl 6", "Let It Be
Me", "American History X", "Rubbernecking", "Jane White Is
Sick and Twisted" and "Soulmates" for which she earned critical
acclaim from Variety for her starring role.
Debra's
other credits include Puppeteering and providing the voice
of Queen Sweet potato for Fox's Saturday morning show "The
Mr. Potato Head Show". Debra also Portrayed the Voice of Star
Fleet Officer Lisa Kusack in"Star Trek's" "Deep Space Nine".
Debra has done multiple voices on "Family Guy"; "Gary & Mike"
and recurring voices on "The Oblongs".
She also
worked on the Animated Pilot. "The Monkeys" as the voice of
"Rebecca" and "Baker". Debra has been a Guest Host on E's
"Talk Soup" and made several Guest Appearances on "The New
Movie Show" with Chris Gore as Guest Critic.
Wilson
is single and resides in Los Angeles with her cat "Nala" and
her two boa constrictors "Victor & Lizzie".
Her blessings
outside of the industry include community service programs
and varied charity events benefiting youth of all ages and
backgrounds. Her Work includes motivational speaking in elementary,
junior high and High Schools, as well as using her clearance
with the Department of Juvenile Justice to speak in-group
homes and conduct improv workshops.
Debra
also reaches out internationally as well as nationally with
her "ASK DEBRA" advice column on the MAD TV Website.
Before
arriving on the Los Angeles scene Debra had an extensive background
