JOHNTA’ AUSTIN IS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY’S “BOY WONDER” Former CNN Teen TV Personality Pens Pop Music’s Biggest Hits
From CNN television anchor to prolific songwriter,
19
year old Johnta’ Austin has been extremely busy and extremely
successful in the last several years.
His career began when he was a mere eight years old, hosting
the daily television show, “Kid’s Beat”
on CNN. Covering
current events, sports and the entertainment world, the young Austin
went on to become the Atlanta
Bureau Chief for the CNN weekly news program, “Real News for Kids” and the
reporter for the TBS half hour weekly, “Feed Your Mind.” Austin, also a talented singer and songwriter, began to attract attention in music industry circles after penning songs for the likes of Jason Weaver, SWV and 702. At the age of 17, he signed a co-publishing deal with Chrysalis Music Group. He has since firmly established himself as “The Boy Wonder.” Jonhta’ Austin is the mastermind songwriter behind some of popular radio’s biggest hits! Recently awarded the coveted industry ASCAP Pop Music Award, as well as the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Award, Austin has penned mega-hits such as the Grammy nominated “Sweet Lady,” performed by Tyrese, “I Don’t Wanna” for Aaliyah from the “Next Friday” and “Romeo Must Die” soundtracks and “Be A Man About It” for Toni Braxton. In addition to writing, Austin performs background vocals on several of his tracks. From air personality to composer, Johnta’ Austin lends new meaning to the term multi-dimensional. “My songwriting is influenced by topics in life that haven’t been touched on often. I make the lyrics for someone who may be feeling the same thing, but just might not have the words to speak it. I wanna’ make people feel like what’s on their mind is worth writing and talking about,” explains Austin. Indeed, with a discography of writing credits that includes tunes penned for Ginuwine, Joe, Toni Estes, Ideal and David Hollister, just to name a few, it is clear that Austin knows exactly what is on the listener’s mind. So what could be next for the Boy Wonder? “I’m working on a solo project and I hope to land my own record deal,” reveals Austin. “My ultimate dream is to turn on the radio and hear my vocals one day.” Based on the young wonder kid’s record of accomplishments, it’s only a matter of time until we see him on the charts soon! Note to Media: Johnta’ Austin is available for interview. .
