entertain at the KJLH
Black Music Month Extravaganza to be held Friday, June 23, 2000
at the Hollywood
Palladium from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The evening will benefit Peace Colors, a grass roots organization comprised
of youth driven school and community based programs. Joining Benet on the bill are the gospel influenced
duo, Columbia Records recording artists, Mary Mary; Dennis CoCo Brown and his jazzy
ensemble, the Fat Cat Players; the man with “the voice,” Loud Recording artist,
LV
and Warner Bros. recording artist, RPM. The
concert will be one of the summer’s hottest gatherings! The Hollywood Palladium is located at 6255 Sunset
Blvd in Hollywood. For ticket information call (213) 480-3232. For 30 years, KJLH Radio (102.3 FM) has been
hosting an event to correspond with Black Music Month in June. This year, KJLH partners with Peace Colors,
to bring together a racially and ethnically diverse group of people
represented by the cultures of Los Angeles and surrounding communities.
Peace Colors is a federally funded non-profit corporation of multi-cultural,
multi-ethnic individuals that champion violence prevention throughout
Southern California. This year’s celebration will feature, in addition
to the concert, community and vendor booths, providing information and
tools to help educate the community on how to live together in peace. Sponsors include Frito Lay, Health Net, Hot
Wings Café, Norman Lewis Limousine, the Los Angeles County Police and
Fire Department, Columbia Records, Warner
Bros. Records, LA Children’s
Toy Drive, LA County Sheriff Department and the Hope for Life Foundation. Over 2500 people are expected to attend this
worthwhile event. You should
