Fifty little misses, ages 6 to 10,
from all around the states, will once again strut their stuff at the
Ninth Annual Little Miss African American Scholarship Pageant (LMAA). To be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel,
the pageant has become a most popular mainstay. Hosted this year by comedian/ actress Mo’Nique, and actor
Dorian Wilson from the top rated television hit, “The Parkers”
the LMAA is a double treat: talented
little divas and a host of celebrities! The festivities take place on Sunday,
August 5, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. The
Hyatt Regency Hotel is located at 711 S. Hope Street in Los Angeles. Tickets are available at all Ticketmasters

Lisa Ruffin, the pageant has always emphasized brains over beauty,
positively impacting the lives of hundreds of little misses since inception
in 1993. Offering the tried
and true formula of Confidence, Awareness and Pride to the little ladies,
Ruffin cites, “I never tire of seeing the joy on the faces of our little
angels as they have their special day.
Its amazing how we are directly influencing lives while nourishing
